Books for Grade 4 – Our Recommendations

Indian No More by Charlene Willing Mcmains

This book tells a story of an African-American woman who wants to have her own family but is told that she cannot do so. She decides to move back to Africa, where she meets other people like herself. The author also talks about how the United States government forced black families to leave their homes and go to live in the South, even though the government knew that these moves would be harmful to them.

As you read this book, keep in mind that the author was writing from the perspective of a white person. That means that you will need to take into account your own biases and prejudices when you read the text. You should try to understand the reasons why the people in the story made the choices that they did.

In addition, you might want to look at the historical context that the author used. This is important because it can help you better understand the times that the characters lived through.

You may find that the information that you learn in this book will change your views on race relations in America. For example, you might realize that racism isn’t limited to one group of people. All races were affected by slavery, segregation, and discrimination.

Wings of Fire Series by Tui T Sutherland

I have read all the books in the wings of fire series. I like them very much. The first book was a bit slow but after that, the story moved along quickly. Many things were happening to the characters in each book so you couldn’t wait to get into the next one.

Tui T Sutherland is an Australian author who writes children’s books. Her stories are full of adventure and mystery. She also uses her own experiences to write about the adventures of her main character, Nana Lee.

In this series, the main character lives in a magical world where she is the princess of the land. However, when her father dies, he leaves her with a curse that will turn her into a dragon unless someone finds a way to break it. This happens in the second book, the third, and the fourth.

The fifth book is called the wing of fire. It takes place several years later and the main character has become an adult. Now, she must find out how to save herself from becoming a dragon.

You should check these books out! They are great for young readers who love fantasy novels.

Fables by Arnold Lobel

Fables is a collection of stories written by American author Arnold Lobel. The book includes fables that were originally published in the New Yorker magazine. This storybook contains a variety of tales, including the famous “The Ugly Duckling” and “Little Red Riding Hood”.

This children’s picture book features illustrations by James Marshall, who also illustrated the classic fairy tale, Cinderella. The art style used in this work is very similar to the artwork featured in the original version of the story. It was first published in 1946, and it has been reprinted several times since then.

There are many different versions of Little Red Riding Hood. One popular version is from the Brothers Grimm. Another is from Hans Christian Andersen, and yet another comes from an Italian folktale. In each case, the basic plot remains the same. However, there are some minor differences between these stories.

In the traditional version of this tale, the wolf is a cannibalistic creature that eats little girls. However, in this version, he is an old man who lives alone in his house. He becomes lonely, so he decides to eat a young girl named Little Red Riding Hood.

The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster

Norton Juster is one of my favorite authors. He wrote The Phantom Tollbooth in 1961, but it was published in 1962. I read this book when I was young and I still love it today. I have always enjoyed his writing style, so I decided to share a few of his books with you.

The first book that I want to talk about is The Phantom Tollbooth. This book tells the story of Milo, who lives in the kingdom of Nothing and travels through time. His friend Ignorance takes him on a journey to learn more about how things work.

The second book that I would like to recommend is The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. This novel follows the adventures of a boy named Tom, who becomes a famous outlaw. In the end, he learns that being good is better than being bad.

The last book that I will be talking about is Hiawatha’s Rabbit. This children’s book was written by James Fenimore Cooper. It tells the tale of an Indian boy named Hiawatha, who is trying to teach a white man about Native American culture.

I hope you enjoy these books as much as I did! If you want to read some other great books, then check out my list below.

Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan

Percy Jackson is a young man who lives in Ancient Greece. He’s been told that he was born to be a demigod, but his father’s death has left him without any special powers.

One day, Percy finds himself in trouble when Hades sends the Greek god of the underworld after him. Percy must go on an epic quest to save his best friend, and also get the magical golden apples from the gods.

Rick Riordan wrote the first book in this series, titled “Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.” This is a great read for anyone who loves mythology and adventure.

This story takes place in ancient Greece, where Percy lives with his mother, Annabeth, and their dog, Grover. His dad died when he was little, so Percy doesn’t have a lot of families around. However, he does have lots of friends.

His friends include Luke Castellan, whose mom is the goddess Athena; Clarisse La Rue, the daughter of Ares, the God of War; and Tyson, the son of Poseidon, the Sea God.

All of these characters help Percy on his journey. The main character in this series, however, is Percy. He has many adventures while trying to find out more about himself.
